Visits & Adventures

The other day Lauren & I had a nice little visit from our friend Tonya and her dog Charlie! Both Tonya & Lauren were my bridesmades when I got married, so there close friends. Tonyas from here but has lived in Denver, CO for a few years now but with Covid shes been traveling for work in different states because theres a need for her kind all over (lab tech). SO in between places she was in Louisiana and came to visit. They came to the camper once I got home from babysitting another friend of mines kids. I shower her the camper and we had a little fire at my fire pit/new porch (the first fire of the winter season!).
I also went stay the night at Freds* house this past weekend while I was off of work. We mostly just hung out in the house and watched movies in bed, which I love doing. I have ADD so normally im not able to sit still and watch a whole movie in one sitting without getting up to start cleaning or doing a project but with Fred, its different. I love just being present in the moment with him. Anyways, lol. He has been talking about an area in the middle of Louisiana called Forest Hill. Hes been wanting to take me out there to show me around the area. Theres a bunch of plant nurseries out there with a large Mexican population. So that also means bomb Mexican food spots as well, which he did take me to one. It was as good as the food truck near the four corners in Lafayette (if you know, you know!) but it was pretty damn good. They didnt have any lengua (cow tongue) which is my fav and everyone elses if your hispanic (im white, but most white ppl unless your an old cajun are scared of "weird" foods- not me). On our way back home Fred drove me threw the small towns to go back home and going threw Oakdale he stopped to show me a 24/7 deer corn despencer! Youve seen the ones for ice, well in Louisiana in the middle of huntning country we have a deer corn dispencery!!! Its pretty cool in my oppinion. I even showed my dad (my dad & I hunt deer along with the other males in my family) and he was really excited by it! So heres a few pictures from our little Forest Hill outting and one of Goldie & the gang.
